United Airlines vape & e-liquid rules

Vapes and e-cigarettes must travel in the United Airlines cabin — never in checked baggage, because of the lithium battery. The e-liquid itself is a liquid: bottles of 100 ml or less inside your clear bag, including the juice already in the tank.

What to know before you pack

Using or charging a vape on board is prohibited on every commercial flight, including in the toilets.
Empty or part-empty the tank before flying — cabin pressure changes cause leaks.
Spare batteries must be individually protected against short circuits and carried in the cabin.
Baby formula, breast milk and juice for infants are TSA-exempt.
Medications in liquid form are TSA-exempt when declared.
Vape devices and spare lithium batteries: cabin only.
