1. Use the 1-litre clear bag
Pick a sturdy resealable bag, 20×20cm. Anything bigger and security may force you to repack. One bag per passenger.
2. Decant into 100ml bottles
Empty containers labelled 100ml or less. A half-empty 150ml bottle still fails. Pack the bag with a small absorbent cloth in case anything leaks.
3. Group by what you'll use first
Toothpaste, contact lens solution and any medication should be on top so you can grab them quickly at security.
4. Keep medical items separate
Prescriptions, inhalers, EpiPens and contact lens solution can usually go above the 100ml limit if declared. Keep them in a labelled pouch outside the 1-litre bag.
5. Anything bigger goes in the hold
Full-size shampoo, perfume, sunscreen and toothpaste tubes belong in checked luggage. Or buy them at the destination.
