Rule basis: Terminal 2 handles most Star Alliance long-haul out of Heathrow. It's the newest of the Heathrow terminals and runs newer security lanes than T3.

What's the liquid rule at Heathrow Terminal 2?
The standard 100ml-container rule applies. Each liquid, gel or paste must be in a container of 100ml or smaller, all fitting inside a single 1-litre clear plastic bag.
Does Heathrow T2 have the 2-litre CT scanner allowance?
Not yet at the time of writing. The 100ml rule remains in force at T2 — don't risk a 1.5L water bottle expecting the new rule.
How early should I arrive at T2 for the security queue?
Three hours for long-haul, two for short-haul. T2 morning peaks (5-7am, 11am-1pm) regularly run 30+ minute security waits.
