Why CBD is different from normal liquids

CBD is not just a liquid-rule issue. It may be treated as a controlled substance depending on the destination or transit country. Passing airport security does not mean you have cleared customs or any country-specific drug laws.

Airport liquid rules apply to liquids, gels, oils, creams and pastes in cabin baggage. But the more important question for CBD is whether the product is legal at your destination.

Where the product is in your luggage does not change whether it is legal at the destination. Customs officers can inspect either bag. Vape devices and spare batteries must always travel in the cabin, never in checked luggage — but that does not make vape liquid legal at every destination.
