Aena (operator of all major Spanish airports) applies the EU 100 ml / 1 L transparent-bag rule at Barcelona El Prat.
If you go through security again at Barcelona (return or onward flight), liquids must be in containers of 100 ml / 3.4 oz or less inside one clear bag.
One airport allows larger containers and the other doesn't. If you need the liquid for return or onward travel, use 100 ml containers.
